The 'M' in the serial number means the frame was made in 1984. In the late 70's through the 80's, the serial numbers went year-sequential by letter. So, the model could be 1984 or 1985- My bet is on 1984, but a quick scan of the catalogs would tell you for sure. Nice bike, BTW. I have a 1984 Univega Gran Turismo that's virtually identical. One may assume that 'RA' serial numbers began with 'RA00001'. Some serials may indicate a production year backdated one year prior to the actual model year of the bike in question. I've been looking but cant find anything. you read it like this: letters= name of frame numbers= tt size so its a 21 inch frame. I have no idea what frame it is. more pics of seat/chain stay will help.

LOOKS like a BSD from pictures I just saw from googling BSD frames, didn't he also say it was a Fit? Seems pretty sketchy. I'd email the serial number to BSD and see if they can verify it
